I AM PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THE GRAND RE-OPENING OF MY CLINICAL PRACTICE IN ENDICOTT, NEW YORK

LARRY P. BLEIER DMD, PERIODONTIST, BOARD CERTIFIED PERIODONTIST, DIPLOMATE, AMERICAN BOARD OF PERIODONTOLOGY

Dear Active Patients and New Patients:

Everyone, Welcome Back!!!

We are all very happy to be back, to be seeing you, and to be able to practice our profession in the best way we know how. We missed you and remain passionate about our profession.

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice, and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it is both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.

You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff.

Dr. Bleier and the staff are here to help you, starting today. We will be spending the week training on all of the PPE, the new protocols, and the new equipment we have purchased to make the experience in our office as safe and comfortable as possible.

Here are some of the items that we're improving to help you;

  1. Phone check-in
Please call us when you are parked and arrive at 607-785-3007. We will then call you when it is time to come in for your appointment. There will be no waiting in our reception room.
  2. Medical screening
After you enter the office, we will do a brief screening, and a temperature check.
  3. Escort to treatment room
We'll then escort you to the room where your exam or treatment will begin.
  4. You will be asked to wash your hands for 20 seconds.
  5. Then you will rinse with an anti-viral rinse.
  6. We will wash our hands in front of you.
  7. We will proceed with dentistry just as always.
  8. By now you've learned about PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). You will see a lot of it.
  9. We will have our office clothes and our home clothes. Our office clothes will stay in the office where we have a washing machine and a dryer. For all aerosol-producing procedures, we will change our outside gowns between patients.
  10. For all aerosol producing procedures, we have new filtration systems to vacuum the aerosols rather than allowing them to go in the air. The filtration system uses an ULPA filter, three times the filtration value of the HEPA filter. (A HEPA filter, for all practical purposes, provides the same level of protection for you.)

The Sentry Air 300MED is a medical filtering device used to create Clean Rooms. This device is a vacuum device that is placed 8-12 inches above your head. During procedures that result in aerosols, e.g. tooth preparation, cleanings, and periodontal and implant treatment, the device will vacuum the aerosols into a 0.12 micron ULPA filter. This filter removes viruses and bacteria to a level of well over 99%.

In addition, we placed UV lights that aid in sterilization throughout all rooms of the office and in some of the Air Sterilization Units.

Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you are offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.

· We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.

· As we reopen we will continue to reschedule any appointments that were cancelled due to the NYS Covid-19 shut down. If you have not heard from us yet, we will be contacting you to get you rescheduled as soon as possible.

· To reschedule a surgery, book a new appointment or learn more about the best options for your care, call my office at 607-785-3007.

One thing that will not change is the dedication of Dr. Bleier and the staff to you. Our goal, whether in disinfection protocols or in delivery of dental care, is to exceed the norms and exceed your expectations.

We have many patients who have been patiently waiting for their dental care. We are ready to do that. We will try to get it done as quickly as possible, but will never compromise on quality to do so.

Thank you for your support and for your patience as we return to normal.

Please let us know how we may help you.

Larry P. Bleier DMD

And on a lighter note, now please keep smiling!
